We don't particularly like Terms & Conditions and would only ask that guests respect other guests while at The Highway Inn. Our highest priority is to make your stay or dining experience as enjoyable, relaxing and comfortable as possible.
Cancellation: your reservation is made with Tally & Scott Nelson trading as The Highway Inn ("the hotel") and represents a legally binding contract between you and the hotel. When you confirm an individual booking with us we won't take a deposit but we will ask for a credit/charge card number to secure the booking and reserve the right to charge the card for cancellations falling outside the permitted time scales, as detailed below.
By entering into this contract you are authorizing us to make the above charges to the card without any additional consent being required. Sometimes there are very good reasons why a cancellation is made. All we ask is that you give us the following notice to avoid a cancellation charge. The first night stay in full and the remaining of at least 50% of the total value of the reservation.
1. One weeks notice of any cancellation or change.
2. Two weeks for 3 or more nights and 3 or more rooms.
3. Where the Whole Hotel (or majority 6 or more rooms) is booked by the same party, there is a 25% non refundable deposit, and a two month cancellation policy and one month’s period to make any changes. This policy still applies to parties who pay for accommodation as a collective or individually. One month to pay in Full.
Room occupancy: Where there is a majority booking of the whole hotel to one party, we will not offer rooms to any other guests not within the party. Either all the rooms need to be booked by the one party or a maximum of 5 rooms. If there is a cancellation on a majority booking with more than 5 rooms then it will need to be filled by the same party or paid for in FULL.
Last Minute Bookings: Please note that rooms booked out of the cancellation policy are subject to full payment on booking and are non-refundable under any circumstances. Please note offers may not be used in conjunction with any other offer or special package rate. The only exception to these 'rules' relates to the Christmas & New Year's breaks. Please see that section.
Smoking: All bedrooms are non-smoking, as are the public areas due to current legislation. We reserve the right to charge an extra night’s stay (at the prevailing B&B rate and using the credit card given to secure the booking) if we have to especially clean and air the room for 24 hours before another guest can occupy it.
Damage: in the unlikely event of replacement, cleaning, or repair being required to any item(s) belonging to the hotel, or the fabric of the hotel itself, (Only general wear and tear is covered by the hotel) we reserve the right to reclaim all costs and any other costs incurred including loss of business, by charging the credit card given to secure the booking, without prior consent being required. Invoices will be supplied to support the claims/costs charged.

We can also accommodate children needing a cot free of charge, we do not provide bedding so please bring your own.
Family-friendly: A cot is available for larger doubles, or there is a family room which has both a double bed and an extra single bed, or if you are accommodating two children we have a double and a twin in a wing on their own next door to each other.
Food and Drink in Rooms: We do not provide an area to eat food in the rooms, so please keep eating to the dining areas. However we do provide Tea and coffee but we point out, other drinks such as red wine are taken to the room at your own risk, if split on fabric, furnishings or carpets, cleaning costs will occur as per our damage policy above.
